There’s a groundswell of interest in labor organizing, and organizing in the tech sector. People are starting to recognize that all workers are stronger united, exercising collective power and bargaining. But getting started is intimidating. What can a union do and not do? How does someone go about trying to organize with their coworkers? What are the first steps to take, and what are reasonable goals to shoot for? This workshop, by the New York Tech Workers Coalition and Tech 1010 will introduce the basics of unions and labor organizing, and help you take those first steps in building workers collective power to transform and improve your workplace.
