Tech 1010 Newsletter - Issue 46

Every election workers rights are under attack, and this spooky season, the stakes are as high as they have ever been for working people. With Project 2025 looming large on the horizon, we hope you’ve made a plan to turn out and vote to protect workers’ rights.

Now, maybe you’re like us, feeling exhausted and dismayed by the current state of our democracy and the options available on the ballot. The choice to sit this one out, however, is not an option because we know the one downside to democracy: the people who show up and participate are the ones who make the decisions. Our power comes from our ability to act with a unified voice (or vote), and this requires organizing.

As the late Jane McAlevey would remind us: “Organizing is about how we bring in people who are not yet convinced that the way we win is with their involvement.” So this election, let us vote and then continue organizing like our lives depend on it so that, perhaps next cycle our democracy looks a bit more like something that represents all of our interests.

In solidarity,

Danielle, Mary, and RV (your L1010 Organizers)
